The Starlight Run have posted the verb heavy, ambient rocker ‘Angels Are Ok’. The Hattiesburg, Mississippi duo (Neil Carey and Warren Ard) only just gave us the ‘All This Summer‘ EP but they wanted to show fans how much they appreciate the support, so now we have this fresh two tracker! Space rock fans can head over to Bandcamp for a free (or PWYW) download.

The Starlight Run – ‘Little Pieces Of Everything’

The Starlight Run are ready to hit you with ‘All This Summer‘, their latest EP featuring the ambient single ‘Little Pieces Of Everything’. The Mississippi duo (Neil Carey and Warren Ard) dominate this tune with airy synthesizers fighting for attention, while the catchy vocals peer through the mix. It follows the EP ‘A Place To Land’ released earlier in the year.

Dead Gaze – ‘Stay, Don’t Say’

DEAD GAZE - 'BRAIN HOLIDAY'

R. Cole Furlow mellows out on Dead Gaze’s latest cut from the forthcoming LP ‘Brain Holiday’ (out through FatCat Records / Palmist on October 22). Following last month’s lead single ‘Rowdy Jungle‘, ‘Stay, Don’t Say’ is a bittersweet affair. I was lucky enough to preview the album a few week’s back and rest assured it’s a solid release. However, there are a few twists and stylistic surprises in store – more on that next month.

Charlie Dakota And The Spirits – ‘Humm’

CHARLIE DAKOTA AND THE SPIRITS

Blissed out rocker from Charlie Dakota And The Spirits. The Oxford, Mississippi-based band deliver the ‘Cruise Ship’ EP featuring ‘Humm’ (name your price here). The self confessed purveyors of “spooky western pop” are all “ouija boards and crab cakes” and you know what?? I’ve got no idea what that means. But, I do know its pretty darn good and will sit nicely with fans of laid back, slacker rock.

Dead Gaze – ‘Rowdy Jungle’

DEAD GAZE - 'ROWDY JUNGLE'

Dead Gaze has announced the release of the new LP ‘Brain Holiday’ featuring the single ‘Rowdy Jungle’, out through FatCat Records / Palmist on October 22. This follows the compilation album released earlier in the year (which is great btw)! For ‘Brain Holiday’ leading man R. Cole Furlow had the opportunity to record at Sweet Tea, a big change from the regular DIY approach. Furlow tells FatCat, it’s a “huge million dollar studio with an amazing old Neve console…I wanted everything to kinda be perfect. In my head I was thinking there is no way in the world I will touch another studio like this ever again, so f**k it – let’s make an enormous pop record.” In a way this is Dead Gaze’s proper first album, but that doesn’t pay credit to how much work has been done thus far. I’m pretty sure there’s been at least three or four album’s worth of songs released over the last five years or so. ‘End Of Days, Why Not You?’, ‘Small Lava’ and some other one with a greenish cover!
