Gold Coast trio Blaire have delivered their new single ‘Youth’ (via GD FRNDS). The single is a pairing of punk rock vocals and shoegazey guitars (hence the punk-gaze genre tag). Guitarist and singer Ben Stagg explains, “The song came about very organically—we’ve never aimed to write anything in particular. ‘Youth’ is about natural repetition—sometimes certain feelings or emotions can feel like Groundhog Day (or year) especially in your youth. This is the sonic translation of that idea.” The trio have posted a selection of garage rockers recently, which have been full of energy and rough edges. Blaire are set to release two more singles later in the year.
