Seeing Hands – ‘It’s True’

‘It’s True’ is a jangly earworm courtesy of Newcastle’s Seeing Hands. It’s the foursome’s second single (following ‘I Knew You’), and was produced by Alex Greaves and mastered by Brian Lucey (Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys, The Shins). This dreamy psych popper has already been praised by DIY, BBC 6 Music and XFM. Seeing Hands are all set for a bright 2017 with a debut release.

Light Fantastic – ‘Something Like Love’

‘Something Like Love’ kicks off Light Fantastic‘s campaign for their debut long player ‘Out Of View’ (available October 7). The reverb heavy, psych-tinged rocker is 100% sunshine. The San Francisco-based collective worked with engineer and guitarist Rex Shelverton (of Tamaryn) for the album. Light Fantastic bridge surf rock with dream pop n’ jangle. Most importantly, there’s great songwriting courtesy of Terry Sowers and his twangy Rickenbacker.

Orchin – ‘If I Ever’

Orchin have served up ‘If I Ever’ (the b-side to ‘One’). It’s another shimmering delight from the LA-based three piece. The group is led by Sydney expat Jeremy McLennan, who weaves intricate melodies through a mass of guitar strings and reverb. I like where Orchin is going with this one, the latter half of ‘If I Ever’ really opens up. If I could direct an 80s teen movie, this would be on the soundtrack! Download a copy here.

Golden Graves – ‘Moon Man’

Austin’s Golden Graves have delivered their latest EP ‘Be Safe’ featuring the jangle/surf/shoegazer ‘Moon Man’. It’s the second EP from the foursome since they formed in 2013. Since then Golden Graves have played shows alongside Ringo Deathstarr, Bloody Knives, and some other bands you may (or may not) like! The ‘Be Safe‘ EP sounds very close to a DIIV record at times, but I’m enjoying it regardless. There’s many messy, melodic moments with plenty of charm; ‘Moon Man’ is one of them.

Boys – ‘Off To New York City’

boys-off-to new york city

Introducing the jangle pop styling of Boys; a London-based four piece. ‘Off To New York City’ is the second public track from their debut EP. Clash premiered the first tune ‘Nice Guys’ which was well received last month. It’s early days, but I’m liking the laid back feels so far.
