Baywaves – ‘The Freak Kingdom’ [Premiere]

Exclusive new sounds from Baywaves, take a listen to the single premiere of ‘The Freak Kingdom’! The jangly psych poppers started as a two piece band between the north of Spain and the idyllic coasts of Vanuatu, releasing the debut track ‘Dreaming‘ last year. Now a touring four piece, Baywaves will be playing Madrid on December 12 with Vibravoid (tickets). ‘The Freak Kingdom’ is a blissed out stunner, drenching vintage tones with indulgent reverb! Baywaves are currently mixing more songs for a 2015 release, stay tuned.

Stereosaurio – ‘Cara B’

stereosaurio-cara b-artwork

These lucky guys played with heavy duty psych-rockers Lorelle Meets the Obsolete during their European tour this spring. Now Madrid natives Stereosaurio invite us to join their breezy ride with ‘Lavagna’, freshly recorded for their 2-track ‘EP (Cara B)’ while in Brazil [‘EP (Flip side)’ en ingles] . The spacey tune grows hypnotically between weightless sighs. Before you know it, 40 minutes have passed, the song is repeating, and half a cereal box is gone without a bowl in sight (well…). Check out the charming pair of songs on Bandcamp, and expect another two-tracker later this year. [By Dave Lytton]

The Royal Landscaping Society – ‘Early Sunrays (I Am Dive Remix)’

I Am Dive have produced a brilliant remix of The Royal Landscaping Society‘s ‘Early Sunrays’. It’s taken from the forthcoming EP, with six tracks and three remixes (courtesy of Beko). It’s the first release from the Sevilla-based four piece. I Am Dive’s treatment transports the indie pop act into electro-gaze territory with blissful results.

Sexores – ‘Historias de Frío’

Rarely does the word “enchanting” get mentioned on these pages. Mainly because it’s a hard word for me to say, write or read with a straight face. Sexores are enchanting. *giggles*. The Spanish natives have produced their second record called ‘Historias de Frío‘ (available now). It’s no joke, this is some superb dream pop meets shoegaze that’s worth a listen. Great artwork too!

Lost Tapes take their dreamy jangle pop to New York City in the new video for ‘Blame It On Rio’. It’s the b-side to ‘Rubber Bracelet’, a fresh 7inch available through Beko! The Spanish duo (Pau Roca of La Habitación Roja and RJ Sinclair of Tokyo Sex Destruction) released their latest EP ‘Poetry Dates’ earlier this year, it’s also worth checking out.

Svper – ‘Nuevo Cisne De Piedra’

Svper returned this week with the fresh tune ‘Nuevo Cisne De Piedra‘ (translates as ‘New Stone Swan’ *thanks Carlos*) and the promise of a new full length in 2014. Their latest is a little more synth heavy and Luciana’s vocals steal the show! The Spanish duo (Sergio Pérez and Luciana Della Villa) formed in 2011 under the moniker Pegasvs before switching names and delivering their debut LP in 2012 (you may remember I gushed about it). Not only are Svper hitting up SXSW this week, they’re also joining Slowdive at Primavera Sound this May.
