The Everywheres – ‘Someone Disappeared’

THE EVERYWHERES - 'SOMEONE DISAPPEARED'

This tune is the audio equivalent of a comfy couch (and the artwork follows suit). Not one of those couches that sucks your arse into a vortex of fabric and cushions – I’m talking a well lived-in, this feels familiar kinda couch! I digress… you’ll find a free download of ‘Someone Disappeared’ at SoundcloudThe Everywheres is the work of soloist Samuel Hill of Halifax, Nova Scotia. On June 25 The Everywheres debut self-titled album will be available through Father/Daughter Records – its shaping up to be a psych pop gem!

Selenian – ‘Sunday Diving’

SELENIAN - 'SUNDAY DIVING'

‘Sunday Diving’ sounds a little like an electronic Tame Impala, full of dreamy vocal lines, cascading keys and far flung sounds. Selenian are a five piece from Northern France, founded in 2011 by Nicolas Gallo. The group are currently working on their debut EP due for release later this year.

Tape Deck Mountain – ‘Suicide 1997’

Slow Salvation‘, the new EP from Tape Deck Mountain was released this week via Lefse Records (USA) and Mouca (EU) – grab it digitally or on 7inch flexidisc! The Brooklyn (by way of San Diego) psych trio have premiered the spacey single ‘Suicide 1997’ (via Filter). I’m not 100% sure but I think this one is about the Heaven’s Gate mass suicide, y’know the one where they all believed they’d be picked up by a UFO if they left five bucks in their pockets!? I may be wrong… probably am.

Desert Stars – ‘Past In The Trash’

Desert Stars have announced that their debut album is coming this Spring. Some folks will remember their kick ass brilliant track ‘Boys I Like‘ from early last year? Well now we can check out their latest psych/dream pop creation, the single ‘Past In The Trash’. Janelle Best formed the Brooklyn act back in 2008 but their lastest tune came about following the addition of guitarist Eric Altesleben last August. Phillip Kibbe teamed up with Desert Stars to direct the video…

Astronaut Husband – 'Someday Sun'

A rare find, ‘Someday Sun’ is a brilliant piece of songwriting. Astronaut Husband isn’t the catchiest of names, and to be honest, the new EP ‘Supergiant Blues‘ doesn’t sport the strongest artwork either, but with songs this good it doesn’t matter. Astronaut Husband is the solo project of Alec Grefe, a musician from Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Alec writes chilled out dream pop (of sorts) and is influenced by Beach House, Wild Nothing, Justin Vernon and the like. Alec is also a member of Haunter who are well worth checking out.
