Bloody Knives – 'Undecided'

Prepare yourself for an earful of sonic destruction! Texan industrial shogazers Bloody Knives are back on May 15 with a fresh LP called ‘Blood’ via Saint Marie Records (pre-order here). The duo (Preston and Jake) are known for their heavy mix of bass, drums and synths. The bass line on ‘Undecided’ is so intense it makes my hands bleed just listening to it!

Lyyar – 'Hypersonic'

Sydney’s Lyyar have released their debut EP ‘Outside, Elsewhere’ via Speak N Spell Records. ‘Hypersonic‘ is a dark progressive rock tune that eventually spills its guts in a shower of noise! An impressive start for the four piece, influenced by Galaxie 500, Decoder Ring, Nirvana and The Warlocks.

Broken Water – ‘Drown’

I must admit, the opening bars of Broken Water‘s ‘Drown’ didn’t impress me much. And then, the brilliant guitar tones kick in and it all takes shape! ‘Drown’ becomes a more impressive monster the longer it ploughs on and the more abrasive it becomes. Hands down one of the strongest noise rock recordings of recent months. The Olympia Trio are set to release their full length ‘Tempest’ through Hardly Art on May 29.

The Janitors – 'Death Song'

If Nick Cave decided to start a shoegaze band, I think it might sound a little like The Janitors ‘Death Song’. The Swedish five piece describe themselves as “evil shoegaze boogie woogie”. If that’s not enough to get you curious then there’s little more I can type! Inspired by the work of  LoOp, Spacemen 3 and JAMC, the Janitors create an almighty wall of noise with a vintage twist, thunderous and all consuming. Pick up the Janitors ‘Death Song’ on the ‘Worker Drone Queen’ EP at Bandcamp.
