Neon Indian – 'The Blindside Kiss'

Get set for some spaced-out noise pop courtesy of Neon Indian‘s latest release ‘Era Extraña’. Chief songwriter Alan Palomo penned much of the album whilst living in Finland. He was reportedly stalked by a local hobo during this time… but that’s a whole other story! The album cut ‘The Blindside Kiss’ tips the needle with overdriven guitar and 8-bit synth lines, mashed behind Palomo’s breathy vocals. It stands as one of ‘Era Extraña’s highlights. Neon Indian will hit the road this Spring for an epic tour of the states (pre-sale tickets here) including a show with The National, supported by Purity Ring.

The lo-fi drone of ‘Silvery And Starless’ will be released on ‘All The Stars Will Fall’ via BLVD Records, November 11. The label has been giving Astrobrite lots of love, re-issuing their seminal 2001 album ‘Crush’ with their 2005 full length ‘pinkshinyultrablast’ next in line.

Crystal Stilts – ‘Radiant Door’

Brooklyn’s Crystal Stilts are set to release their new EP ‘Radiant Door’ via Sacred Bones on November 15. The first song ‘Dark Eyes’ kicks off the double sided, five track release. ‘Radiant Door’ follows the Crystal Stilts reverb-soaked 2011 record ‘In Love With Oblivion’. The lead single ‘Shake The Shackles’ got loads of attention when Slumberland first released it back in 2010, a mix of vintage garage rock and noise pop.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Crystal Stilts have won a lot of new fans this year and ‘Radiant Door’ is the icing on the cake. Pre-orders are available from Sacred Bones Records who are hailing ‘Dark Eyes’ as one of their best. The PR states, “Radiant Door reflects the band’s experiments with specific ideas in the studio and what they’ve been excited about and listening to, including Blue Orchids, Sanford Clark, and many more. Opening track ‘Dark Eyes’ may be their strongest song to date, unshackling them from their fuzzy reputation, which, even at its heaviest, could never obscure one from this bands dexterous song-craft.”

Peter Kernel – 'I'd Die Rich At Your Funeral'

Noise pop trio Peter Kernel have released their new album ‘White Death Black Heart’ via African Tape featuring the single ‘Panico! This Is Love’ and the impressive album cut ‘I’d Die Rich At Your Funeral’. A very spiteful song title! The music is no different, it gets progressively more off track and abrasvie.

The Swiss/Canadian band have also released the new ‘Panico! This Is Love’ video. Check out Peter Kernel‘s cheeky side below but note it’s NSFW… contains nudity and scenes set to full raunch!
