Wall of sound incoming! San Francisco shoegazers Whirr (formerly known as Whirl) have spent 2011 sharpening their knives in the studio after signing to Tee Pee Records.

Whirr have streamed a new track ‘Junebouvier’ which can be found on their ‘June’ EP. But…the ‘June’ EP won’t be released until September 27. Download it via Bandcamp or grab one of the limited 7” copies via Tee Pee. According to the site ‘Junebouvier’ was ‘recorded live with Jack Shirley at the Atomic Garden in Palo Alto ’… must’ve been an incredibly loud session!

Whirl started out as a side project of Deafheaven guitarist Nick Bassett before gaining momentum, releasing the ‘Distressor’ EP in mid 2010 and then changing names to Whirr (due to a pop punk band with the same name). The cinematic six piece are set to release a debut full length Whirr album in early 2012 but an exact date is yet to be confirmed.
