Motorama – ‘She Is There’

Motorama have released their new single ‘She Is There‘ with the b-side ‘Special Day’, download at iTunes or hold out til early May for a limited 7inch via Talitres! The four piece from Rostov-on-Don, Russia have produced a brilliantly catchy tune that remains sunny despite Vlad’s deep and dark vocal performance. Fans will note that drummer Roma Belenky doesn’t appear in the video due to his recent departure from the band. A fresh Motorama album is expected mid year.

Craft Spells – ‘Breaking The Angle Against The Tide’

Craft Spells are giving away the first single from their forthcoming album ‘Nausea’ (out June 10 via Captured Tracks). The Californian jangle poppers are sounding a little more like their earlier work, only with some added production flourishes (like the strings we hear in ‘Breaking The Angle Against The Tide’). Lead man Justin Paul Vallesteros has been honing his song writing powers over the past five years and Craft Spells latest is a good indication of that. While the 2012 ‘Gallery’ EP was fun, it fell short of expectation after their much loved debut ‘Idle Labor’, fingers crossed ‘Nausea’ is another step forward.

Gulls – ‘Deep Water’

Here’s a delightful ditty from British newcomers Gulls. The five piece are busy working on a new EP release but have posted a number of promising demos on Soundcloud. ‘Deep Water’ is a jangle meets surf pop tune, which is all light and floaty on top but with lyrics that are a little less sunny. Looking forward to hearing more soon.

Onwe – ‘Unpaid Internship (Trust-fund Blues)’

Introducing Onwe (pronounced “ennui”), the work of Brooklyn’s David Welles. ‘Unpaid Internship (Trust-fund Blues)‘ is an impressive reverb-soaked jangle pop track, the b-side from the new digital release ‘jk bb‘ (free download). David’s clearly got a healthy sense of humour, he recently “transitioned from male model to recording artist in 2014 when he moved into a Bushwick, Brooklyn loft. Inspired by his artist community’s most prominent social movement, apathy.” P.s. sorry not re-blogged on Tumblr.

Hideous Towns – ‘Joy’

Introducing Melbourne’s Hideous Towns and their debut new wave/jangle pop single ‘Joy‘ (download). In fact, the four piece are best to introduce themselves because their bio is more amusing – “Chris and Ryan are long time pals, nothing sexual, Ashley’s mother was a coworker of Ryan’s so she hooked us up with her little drummer boy, nothing sexual, Alana was recruited from the internet. Nothing sexual.”
