Boys – ‘Off To New York City’

boys-off-to new york city

Introducing the jangle pop styling of Boys; a London-based four piece. ‘Off To New York City’ is the second public track from their debut EP. Clash premiered the first tune ‘Nice Guys’ which was well received last month. It’s early days, but I’m liking the laid back feels so far.

Danxia – ‘Closer’

danxia-closer

Closer‘ is the first single from Danxia‘s forthcoming EP. The Warrington band mix a sedate and sunken verse with a wall of sound chorus, both generously soaked in reverb. Plus a rock god guitar solo in the bridge! The four piece have played a handful of British dates since posting their first demos last October. Thanks Keith for the tip.

New Slowdive Album Coming In 2017

slowdive-band

Guitarist Rachel Goswell confirmed that Slowdive were working on new material in May, now drummer Simon Scott has weighed in. The news dropped earlier in the week (via Undertoner, via Reddit, and then via some guy at a bar). As posted by Cos; “Perry MacLeod, wrote on Reddit that Scott said it wouldn’t be too far off. I didn’t write it out in the interview since it was just a guess from Mr. Scott, but he said the album would probably be out in 2017.” Word has it that the album has been recorded and is ready for mixing/mastering. The 20+ year wait will soon be over! Now all we need is news about that elusive new MBV EP. *holds breath… … passes out*

Introducing British foursome Seeing Hands. Their debut single ‘I Knew You’ is a relaxed blend of jangle pop meets dream pop (as heard on Radio X). The Newcastle natives (which features one of the members of High Tide 15:47), recorded the breezy single at Loft Studios with producers Jack Boyle and John Elliott. More to come.

British five piece Bleak House returned with ‘Sun Down’ last week after almost two years of silence. It’s a slow burning blend of dream pop and psych. The combination of Dan and Yasmyn’s vocals weave their magic by the end of the track. Grab a download via Bandcamp.
