Landing – ‘Morning Sun’ [Video Premiere]

landing-third-sight

Landing return to their roots for the hallucinatory new video ‘Morning Sun’. It’s lifted from the band’s new record ‘Third Sight’, which was recorded specifically for El Paraiso Records’ Impetus series. The Connecticut-based foursome have crafted waves of reverb heavy psychedelia for almost twenty years; weaving between krautrock, folk, shoegaze and drone. ‘Morning Sun’ is a mature creation, it’s delightfully understated and yet immediately hypnotic. In other words, Landing know what they’re doing, this is stunning psych done right! Pre-order ‘Third Sight’ (out June 17) on limited green vinyl here.

Connecticut solo artist Craig Douglas (aka Omega Vague) released his sixth album ‘Reveries’ this month (grab it here). The stand outs ‘Beyond The Stars’ and ‘The Long Way’ pepper a dreamy collection of anthems that are well produced and presented. ‘Reveries’ has so far been praised by The Shoegaze Collective, DKFM and Ambient Airwaves.

Landing – ‘Traveling’

Sublime space rock from Connecticut foursome Landing. ‘Traveling’ is their new single out via Heligator Records to help those at the Malindza Refugee Camp. Hardcore fans may recognize it, the song was originally delivered on the band’s first cassette (back in the prehistoric year of 1998)! The new version sounds bigger and better than ever – download and show your support here.

The label states, “Landing recorded this track exclusively for Heligator. Aside from being an incredible musical statement, Snow’s lyrics get at the heart of what Heligator strives to do. “Why can’t you see me/I’m not invisible” is really what the refugees at the Malindza Refugee Camp are trying to say.

Forced to leave their homes because of war, political instability, xenophobia (or all of the above) these refugees want people to know they exist. Not only that they exist, but they are surviving and, against all odds, thriving. They are building libraries, teaching each other and learning/connecting to the world that they feel has largely ignored them.

Your purchase of this track goes directly to the Malindza Refugee Camp library and librarians. Funds go to keeping the lights on, repairs and providing a small stipend for the refugee volunteer librarians. Rarely do you get so rewarded for your generosity. But…here we are.”

Omega Vague – ‘Release’

OMEGA VAGUE - 'OMEGA VAGUE'

Omega Vague returns with his fifth album, the self-titled full length is available now at Bandcamp featuring the opener ‘Release’. It’s the work of Connecticut-based multi-instrumentalist Craig Douglas, who recorded the album during a difficult 2013. The depths are evident, this is a dark and ambient collection that rarely breaks for light – stream the rest here.
