Astronaut Husband – ‘Together’

Alec Grefe (of Haunter) returns as Astronaut Husband for the release of ‘Then & Now’, a mixed bag of downbeat lo-fi/acoustic and experimental oddities! Grab the digital now or hold out til the cassette is available via Little League Records. I’ve had the beautiful album cut ‘Together’ on repeat, it’s a hidden gem. The Wisconsin-based solo artist is criminally underrated in my book! Check out his previous releases ‘Drip’ and ‘Supergiant Blues’ via Bandcamp for more.

ASTRONAUT HUSBAND - 'DRIP'

Solo artist Alec Grefe has been producing music under the moniker Astronaut Husband since 2012 but is also a member of Wisconsin four piece Haunter. His dreamy acoustic creations grabbed my attention on the fantastic EP ‘Supergiant Blues‘ and this week the beautiful new record ‘Drip‘ was released. Astronaut Husband really deserves a wide audience, this is brilliant work. Stream or download the rest at Bandcamp.

Astronaut Husband – 'Someday Sun'

A rare find, ‘Someday Sun’ is a brilliant piece of songwriting. Astronaut Husband isn’t the catchiest of names, and to be honest, the new EP ‘Supergiant Blues‘ doesn’t sport the strongest artwork either, but with songs this good it doesn’t matter. Astronaut Husband is the solo project of Alec Grefe, a musician from Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Alec writes chilled out dream pop (of sorts) and is influenced by Beach House, Wild Nothing, Justin Vernon and the like. Alec is also a member of Haunter who are well worth checking out.
