Fuzz, pop, noise and reverb prevail on TEEPEE‘s latest record ‘Distant Love or: Time Never Meant Anything, and Never Will’. Miami’s Erix S. Laurent is TEEPEE, who started out creating drones before releasing his debut LP ‘Morals’ in 2008. His latest was recorded by Albert Ovadia and mastered by Brian Lucey (David Lynch, The Black Keys). The single ‘Time Meant Nothing’ was released on 7inch back in June, instead take a listen to the whirlwind album cut ‘Stray Away (She Was Only Real When I Was)’. The nonchalant murderous references to fairy tale characters and restrained arsonist calls make this an unnerving listen, like Mr. Laurent could go postal at any moment. Hope not.
