I probably shouldn’t mention this but… I looked at No Joy‘s ‘Ghost Blonde’ cover several times over before I realised there was a boob on it. What does that say about my observation skills…or more so, my manliness!? *eats steak, watches sports*

But enough of this low-brow banter, time to spread the No Joy love! ‘Ghost Blonde’ is noise affronting pop with multi-layered vocals and lots of sloppy guitars, No Joy isn’t shy of their shoegaze influences either.

No Joy (a military term meaning ‘I have been unsuccessful, failed, or have no information’) may scramble the eggs of Raveonettes fans, Young Prisms or The Vandelles. In fact, Sune Rose-Wagner (of The Raveonettes) mixed the record. No Joy aren’t lacking industry friends, if not for label mate kudos from Bethany Cosentino (of Best Coast) they may not have been signed to Mexican Summer in the first place. But now it’s all bright days ahead, the No Joy tour continues in the US and Canada next month (details here).

WARNING – The No Age – ‘Hawaii’ video is NSFW…contains random nudity…you’re going to watch it now aren’t you!?
