After almost a year and a half in the licensing wilderness, Eric Green’s Beautiful Noise music documentary has finally got an opening date! May 31 at SIFF Cinema Uptown in Seattle, Washington. Those that were part of the Kickstarter campaign will receive their physical copies “after the festivals, during the home video release stage”. ‘Beautiful Noise’ is Eric Green’s debut documentary, ten years in the making. The presser calls it an “exploration of the dense, sensuous, and extremely loud movement in popular music, which was pejoratively named “shoegaze” by the British press”. There’s interviews with Kevin Shields, Jim Reid, Robin Guthrie, Bobby Gillespie, Douglas Hart, Colm O’Ciosoig, Debbie Googe, Simon Raymonde, Alan Moulder, Ivo Watts-Russell, Alan McGee, Sonic Boom, Wayne Coyne, Trent Reznor, Billy Corgan and Robert Smith. Plus a score by Medicine’s Brad Laner. Very exciting news!
