It takes a lot of guts to sing like this. There’s very little musical accompaniment during the opening bars of Conner Youngblood‘s new single ‘Proportions’ (free download here). The restrained pacing, rawness and confidence shown in the simplest of vocal melodies makes it a compelling listen. Of course, the lovely reverb tail on the finger clicks and overall roominess does wonders too! This brilliantly delicate and lonely delivery leaves me hanging for ‘Sketches pt. 2′, Conner Youngblood’s sophomore record that’s due later this year. Now… who needs a hug!?
