Iceland’s Low Roar have released a debut album featuring the lead track ‘Tonight, Tonight, Tonight‘ and the captivating album cut ‘Because We Have To’. Low Roar is the work of Ryan Karazija, who recently re-located to the sunny shores of San Francisco to record. Andrew Scheps (Cass McCombs, Duke Spirit) worked with Karazija to produce the album (the first release on Schneps new label Tonequake).

This isn’t party music and its not meant to be. Low Roar‘s album plays out like a slow motion lullaby, incredibly delicate and well conceived. Karazija sings with confidence despite being left out in the open by the intentionally sparse arrangements. This is backed up by Scheps’ warm production, the accompaniment feels like it magically appears and disappears just at the right moment.
