Toronto’s Memoryhouse released their debut EP ‘The Years’ last year and were welcomed with open arms for the presence they created with songs like ‘Sleep Patterns’. They’ve been labelled as watery, ambient and dreamlike. The two-piece edges towards claustrophobic, but is forever dreamy and sedated.

Just to shake things up, Memoryhouse have re-recorded, mixed and mastered ‘The Years’ all over again and added two extra songs ‘Modern, Normal’ and ‘Quiet America’. This will be the first time their debut has been available on CD, courtesy of Sub Pop on September 13 (you can pre-order here). If that’s not enough, there’s been confirmation that a full-length album is already in the works for 2012!

Memoryhouse‘s Denise Nouvion has also been hard at work on a video for ‘Quiet America’ which was edited by James Harley. It matches the song perfectly and had me looking all glazed over by the end – I hope there’s not some subliminal messages going on!

On the back of ‘The Years’ Memoryhouse will be touring Canada and North America throughout September and November with The Radio Dept + Peter Bjorn and John – tour dates here.
