Golden Daze – ‘Never Comin’ Back’

golden daze-never comin back

‘Never Comin’ Back’ is the third offering from Golden Daze, a summery mix of psych pop, jangle and surf (as premiered by Spin). The Los Angeles duo (Ben Schwab and Jacob Loeb) has created a punchy lo-fi tune to sit alongside the first public tracks ‘Low’ and ‘Salt’. Keep an ear out for their forthcoming debut full length (out February 19 via Autumn Tone).

LSD and the Search for God – ‘(I Don’t Think That We Should) Take It Slow’ [Premiere]

lsd and the search for god-heaven is a place

Super excited to share the first public stream of ‘(I Don’t Think That We Should) Take It Slow’, an all new song and video by LSD and the Search for God! The San Francisco collective are set to release their second EP ‘Heaven Is A Place’ via Deep Space Recordings (digital / vinyl) on January 15. It’s the long awaited follow-up to their 2008 self-titled debut, and follows the lead single ‘Heaven’. After listening through the five track EP, I think it’s a big step forward. ‘(I Don’t Think That We Should) Take It Slow’ is a testament to how their sound has evolved since the addition of Ricky Maymi (Brian Jonestown Massacre) and Ryan Lescure (Moonbeams / My Red Dress). This time round it’s a swoony blend of stadium psych and shoegaze, with hooky guy/girl vocals and loads of depth. I know you’re all going to love this one; only about ten days ‘til launch.

Dråpe – ‘Round And Around’

drape-relax-relapse

In October Dråpe gave us their second full length ‘Relax/Relapse’ via Norwegian label Riot Factory, and recently premiered a 60s-styled video for ‘Round And Around’ (via Konbini). The quintet have evolved immensely since forming in 2010, and have faced more changes recently with the departure of Hanne (singer), and the return of Eirik (keys/guitar). I do miss the bendy days of their debut, and Hanne’s femine touch, but Dråpe’s brand of trippy psych pop is always refreshing (especially when recorded on 24 track tape)! ‘Relax/Relapse’ plays out like a sprawling daydream, and it’s catchier than ever. Check out this recent interview with Ja Ja Ja for the full low down.

LSD And The Search For God – ‘Heaven’

lsd and the search for god-heaven is a place

The much-loved LSD & The Search For God will deliver their new five track EP ‘Heaven Is A Place’ on January 15 via Deep Space Recordings. The good news is, after nine years we almost have new music! The bad news is, the colour vinyl pre-orders are already sold out. So be snappy if you want to pick up a first pressing (details here). Since the release of their debut EP (posted below to freshen your memory), the band have added new members Ricky Maymi (Brian Jonestown Massacre) and Ryan Lescure (Moonbeams / My Red Dress), and have toured with The Telescopes, A Place To Bury Strangers and appeared at Austin Psych Fest (among others). The San Francisco space rockers posted ‘Heaven’ about a year ago, so the wait can’t end quick enough, from what I’ve heard, it’ll be worth it.

Gnoomes – ‘Roadhouse’

gnoomes-ngan

Dreamy psych doesn’t get much better than this! After turning our heads with ‘Popol Vuh’ last August, Gnoomes are set to deliver their debut LP ‘Ngan!’ on October 16 via Rocket Recordings (UK). The Russian trio posted ‘Roadhouse’ last month and it’s another stunning song, with an effortless groove and beautiful guitar tones. Gnoomes can do no wrong!
