Good Morning TV - Good Morning TV

Good Morning TV‘s debut s/t EP has landed via Requiem Pour un Twister! The French project is the work of songwriter Bérénice Deloire and producer Barth Bouveret. ‘Ordrinary People’ is a stunning psych pop tune with loads of grit. Highly recommended listening for fans of Broadcast, Stereolab or Melody’s Echo Chamber.

Slaughter Beach – ‘Glaze’

‘Glaze’ is an off-kilter mix of dream pop and psych, courtesy of Slaughter Beach. The Danish trio (which features Hasse Mydtskov of The Kissaway Trail), delivered their debut EP ‘Love/Venice’ just last year, and this month the new single via Brilliance. Slaughter Beach has already been lauded by the likes of NME, The Line of Best Fit, Interview Mag and NPR. With all their momentum it’ll be interesting which direction their next release heads; here’s hoping for more hazy jams like this. On first listen they reminded me of the late Tripping Daisy (before Tim went on to start The Polyphonic Spree).

The Stargazer Lilies – ‘Door To The Sun’

Graveface Records dished up a fantastic psych / shoegaze crossover record this month; The Stargazer LiliesDoor To The Sun’. The Pennsylvanian trio has hit their stride on their sophomore offering; it’s a dynamic and woozy collection of dreamy rockers. Lead track ‘Summer’s Gone’ is flanked by some super trippy creations that at times melt into droning mantras. Changes are, you’re already all over it. If not, indulge yourself…

Tuath – ‘Existence Is Futile’

Umm, is this chilled psychedelia? Jazz? Space rock? Kinda… all of those and not at all! Tuath are here to smash your preconceptions. The band hail from Donegal in the Republic of Ireland, and their video for ‘Existence Is Futile’ is successfully evading any attempt at pigeon holing. Tuath are fresh from a spot at Dublin’s Reverberation Psych Fest alongside TwinKranes, Wild Rocket and the The Cosmic Dead. If this trippy creation flips your eggs then don’t sleep on their new EP ‘Existence Is Futile’ (out this month).

Landing – ‘Morning Sun’ [Video Premiere]

landing-third-sight

Landing return to their roots for the hallucinatory new video ‘Morning Sun’. It’s lifted from the band’s new record ‘Third Sight’, which was recorded specifically for El Paraiso Records’ Impetus series. The Connecticut-based foursome have crafted waves of reverb heavy psychedelia for almost twenty years; weaving between krautrock, folk, shoegaze and drone. ‘Morning Sun’ is a mature creation, it’s delightfully understated and yet immediately hypnotic. In other words, Landing know what they’re doing, this is stunning psych done right! Pre-order ‘Third Sight’ (out June 17) on limited green vinyl here.
