Pokal – ‘Some Time’

pokal-some time

‘Some Time’ is a breezy slice of jangle pop courtesy of Norway’s Pokal. It’s the moniker of Arne Barlindhaug Ellingsen, who draws influence from Ariel Pink, Prefab Sprout and Autechre (among others). Pokal oozes an effortless pop aesthetic, the kind that Scandinavians are so well known for! For fans of Postiljonen, Radio Dept or The Mary Onettes.

Tropic Harbor – ‘Glowing Eyes’

‘Glowing Eyes‘ is our first listen to Tropic Harbor‘s forthcoming debut LP (out this Fall). The band was formed by Edmonton’s Mark Berg, who is influenced by jangle pop contemporaries like Wild Nothing and Young Lagoon, as well as the classics; The Smiths and Cocteau Twins. Tropic Harbor’s first offering was well recieved, the shimmering ‘Colour‘ EP (from 2014). Looking forward to the full length.
