Hazy Mountains – ‘Neon Velvet’

HAZY MOUNTAINS - 'NEON VELVET'

In the lead up to a new full length, ambient electronic producer Julian Prott has delivered a new Hazy Mountains single called ‘Neon Velvet‘ (free download). The euphoric track shifts from a dream pop feel to a saturated synth anthem – there’s a lot going on here! Side note, I’m thinking purple is the early colour of choice for artwork this year.

Savage Sister – ‘Champagne Panthers’

SAVAGE SISTER - 'WILD SLEEP'

Savage Sister reach into the depths for their latest tune ‘Champagne Panthers’! The nightmarishly dark track blends coldwave with their shogaze influences, wrapped in cacophonous reverb. Pick it up on the ‘Wild Sleep‘ EP, available from February 18.

Eyedress – ‘Biolumine’

EYEDRESS - 'SUPERNATURAL'

The silly season has taken hold (as you may have noticed). So if you’re feeling as stretched as me right now, perhaps this ultra chill track from Eyedress will help ease the festive stress cycle. Pick up ‘Biolumine’ on Eyedress’ new EP ‘Supernatural’ via Abeano / iTunes. The Filipino producer is joined by vocalist Skint Eastwood on this tune, beautiful work.

Ewok Fur – ‘Autumn Graffiti’

EWOK FUR - 'AUTUMN GRAFFITI'

If you’re a fan of woozy, downbeat electronic tunes then listen up! Germany’s Ewok Fur has released a new EP ‘Dustlights‘. The solo artist uses copious effects pedals in the search for blissful euphoria! Case in point, the analogue sounding ‘Autumn Graffiti‘ which layers synthesizers and vocals in a warm wash of reverb. Best of all, it’s free.

Eyedress – ‘Nature Trips’ [VIDEO]

EYEDRESS - 'SUPERNATURAL'

Fantastic downbeat electronic tune from Eyedress, taken from his debut EP ‘Supernatural’ (available from December 2 via Abeano Music). ‘Nature Trips’ is desperately bleak, with a darkness that’s emphasized in the new video below. Eyedress (Idris Vicuña) is a producer based in the Philippines, who created this song on a hand-me-down laptop in his bedroom using Fruity Loops. Impressive! Thoughts go out to all of those effected by the Philippines typhoon this week (donate if you can via Unicef).

Glass Vaults – ‘Bright’

GLASS VAULTS - 'BRIGHT'

The expansive, cinematic sounds of Glass Vaults return with the release of their ‘Bright’ EP (available now). Based in Wellington, New Zealand and led by Richard Larsen and Rowan Pierce, the group have continued to deliver quality recordings since their 2010 ‘Glass‘ EP debut. It’s difficult to pigeon hole these guys as the music crosses borders between dub, electronic, dream pop and post rock. Glass Vaults have a talent for the progressive slow burner that digs into your head, expands, and then leaves you in a profoundly different headspace. The title track (free download) opens with a lush swelling synth before the otherworldly vocals steal the show. As soon as you feel comfortable, a jungle-esque beat hits that flies in the face of predictability.
