Singer and guitarist Sergey Khavro is the solo artist behind Parks, Squares And Alleys – the lo-fi, bedroom pop project based in Khabarovsk, Eastern Russia. These dreamy melodies came to light following the demise of Sergey’s former band (Walrus Meditation) and led to the debut LP ‘Memories‘ in 2011. Parks, Squares And Alleys recently posted a new single called ‘Youth‘ which is quickly gathering a bevy of new supporters.

Creepy cover art huh!? Right up in your retinas! It’s a surprise to hit play and find a contrasting wave of chilled awesomeness! I don’t know much about You Are Not Real, other than it comes from the UK and they’d “rather stay anonymous”.

L.A shoegazers Yourself In Peace have released their new EP ‘Infrarealist‘ featuring ‘Hibiscus’, a collaboration with White Blush. Inspired by Roberto Bolano and the poetry movement that started in Latin America in the 70′s, along with musical ques from Pale Saints, Ride and Sebadoh. The duo (Justin Corrál – Vocals/Guitar / Westley Miles Ulit – Synth/Drums) formed only last year but are already working on their third EP for Indiangold Records.

Kigo returns with a new six track EP ‘Closer (Hear My Voice)‘ featuring the opener ‘All For You’ (available now). The Brisbane-based solo artist released his shoegazer debut ‘Guilt‘ only a few months ago – solid work ethic! In case you missed the introduction – see here. Needless to say, another impressive release.

The new single from No Joy is a mix of grinding, processed guitars against the spacious vocals of Jasamine White-Gluz. ‘Hare Tarot Lies’ is a timely reminder to mark April 23 in your diary, when the Montreal rock troupe release their second LP ‘Wait To Pleasure’ via Mexican Summer!

Take a listen to the first official single from Weekend‘s new album ‘Jinx’, out July 23 via Slumberland! Last September, we were treated to a rough album cut called ‘Sirens‘ but this is our first real taste. The San Francisco-based trio released their debut LP ‘Sports’ in 2009, lauded by shoegaze fans and post punk lovers alike. The ‘Red’ EP followed in 2011, featuring the much loved ‘Hazel’.

Deerhunter have unveiled the raucous title track to their new album ‘Monomania‘, out May 7 through 4AD (see Jimmy Fallon live performance). And its a loud one, kinda like Marc Boland throwing a tantrum on a pedal board. Well, not really… but its an exciting listen. It just gets increasingly more impulsive and out of control. Gotta love rock n’ roll spaz attacks! That’s my thought for the day. Leading man Bradford Cox has said the record is more avante garde, guess we’ll find out next month! *counts the days*
