Towns – 'Just Everything'

Cartoon Records released Towns sophomore single ‘Just Everything’ via iTunes (UK) this week, while Howling Owl Records have a limited run of cassettes on offer. By limited I mean there’s only forty (right here)! ‘Just Everything’ is their first solo physical release and follows their debut single ‘Gone Are The Days‘. The British four piece produce straight ahead rock with a shoegaze leaning, recently playing Liverpool Sound City and the Great Escape Festival.

Lockets – 'Camera Shy'

Lockets are working on their debut full length following the release of ‘Camera Shy’ late last year (free download here). The Philly duo (Dani Parker and Todd Mendelsohn) have been busy touring with Keep Shelly In Athens and Field Mouse, getting noticed by NME and making local radio appearances. It’s not hard to see why they’re fast becoming dream pop darlings with the warm, sleepy and ultra pretty tune ‘Camera Shy’. Hear Lockets latest single ‘Treasures You Lost’ at Soundcloud.

Arc In Round – 'II'

Shoegaze meets krautrock is an apt description of Arc In Round‘s debut. Sure, it’s all rock n’ roll but hey, labels like ‘Kraut-Gaze’ are half the fun! The Philly four piece have been crafting spaced out melodic jams since forming in 2009. The release date of their self-titled LP has been changed to June 26 (still through La Société Expéditionnaire). The record kicks off with ‘II’, a strong introduction to the angular beats, showering guitars and vocal harmonies that glue this record together. It’s a strong release with enough diversity of songwriting and hooky melodies to keep your ears invested. It’s cliche but… it is worth the wait.

Medicine – ‘Never Click’

As you may know, Captured Tracks have been hard at work re-releasing a number of classic albums under the ‘Shoegaze Archives‘ tag. Of course, the term ‘shoegaze’ is used liberally! In this case, Medicine‘s ‘Never Click’ from ’93′s ‘The Buried Life’ is a garage noise rocker with all of the raw edges and chaos you’d expect.’The Buried Life’ was originally released on Rick Rubin’s American Recordings but Captured Tracks is offering up an expanded, remastered, repackaged…package (pick it up here)!

Arcadia Gardens – ‘Purple Glow’

Tennessee dream pop producer Daniel Rutstrom has released a new EP under the moniker Arcadia Gardens. ‘Memory Machines‘ is six tracks of hazy pop with catchy, reverb heavy vocal lines. The opener ‘Purple Glow’ is a leisurely stroll, combining synths with ambient guitars and boldly simple melodies. Arcadia Gardens also dips toes in more upbeat waters, occasioning on surf pop. For fans of Craft Spells and Twin Cabins.
